Another intention
14 January 2006
Feeling much better today, although I still have to take painkillers a couple of times a day. A bit of a lie-in must have helped. I went to Paddock Wood, Tonbridge and the farm shop with Mum and Dad today and while I had to make two pitstops for the loo while out, I have at least lost my cowboy-style walk.
Desperate to start taking photos again, I packed up my camera in my rucksack and took it with me. The light was fairly rubbish – it is January though, so I shall forgive it – but I managed to get some shots I’m pleased with. We went to Barsley’s department store, where I found one of my favourite photographic toys: a mirror. Mum and Dad tried to find a new duvet cover for their bed and we filled the shop with some raucous Marchant laughter when they simultaneously pointed out covers they had spotted, their arms crossing over as they pointed in the opposite direction from one another. It was ever so funny, it’s just a shame I missed the shot!
At the farm shop I met a girl who worked there, who was keen to know if I was taking photos for a project or just for fun. She’s very interested in photography and I showed her a few of the shots I’d taken that day. I gave her my Flickr address, so I hope she’ll find her way here too as I did my usual thing of not giving the whole story, convinced that she wouldn’t be interested. Why couldn’t I have just added “and this is the URL for my personal website”? I guess that should be another new year’s intention: stop thinking you’re not interesting. You idiot.
