what, you want more?
* there are many, many cobbles
* it’s quite possible to walk around enjoying the pointy spires and big important-looking buildings without knowing what they are
* I should know
* the Belle Epoque restaurant has wonderful decor
* you must take a boat trip to see the city in a totally new light
* Tom Pouce restaurant serves the best vegetarian lasagne in the world
* Flemish is a strange-looking mix of Dutch, German, French and English, which means I had a vague idea of what was going on
* local people may come and volunteer themselves for photos
* there are many bridges
* which is handy, because there are many canals
* the sand sculpture festival is worth a visit
* I should have bought more chocolate liqueur
