Lughnasadh

1 August 2007

Bless you.

Lughnasadh or the more easily spelled Lammas is today, 1st August, and marks the beginning of the harvest season. I didn’t know this. But Elaine did and she told me and then she was all, “make these biscuits, bitch” and I was all, “ha ha, yours came out all wonky” and she was all, “yeah, I know, but my husband broke recently, so don’t start with me” and then Lorien was all, “I rule, mine are spirals and round and even my cooling rack is spirally – beat that!” And inside I was all, “ha, I’ll beat that alright, I can cook, I know stuff. I cater for our summer party, dude, I can make stupid biscuits.”

Then the recipe came along and, how do you Americans say? Bit me on the ass. Trying to roll up the mofo dough, Mum was all, “whose idea was this?” and I was, like, “Elaine’s” and she was, like, “she needs shooting” and I was like, “word”. Then cutting the dough into slices my knife was all “I is sharp“, but the dough was all “yeah, but we is soft” and then I was like, “these are not spirals” and then I was all “this has ruined my evening” and Mum was like, “jeez, chill!”. But inside I was also kinda “well, at least I’ve got something for my blawg”.
