a day without hyperbole is a day wasted

3 December 2007

I’ve just remembered I had been thinking about doing some kind of Advent photo countdown thing this year. Shortly after I remembered that I realised that today is the 3rd December and so perhaps that particular ship has already sailed. I’m not quite sure where the end of November and beginning of December disappeared to, but I also ended up with no time to find a good advent calendar as I swore I would last year – and so I’m back to being forced to eat crappy chocolate every day.

But of course I must admit that the thing about not knowing where time has gone is a total lie. The end of November disappeared to Salzburg and several days spent feeling under the weather when I got back. Then at the weekend I was at a housewarming in Ipswich, where I watched people get off their trolleys and was repeatedly asked by one such inebriated person why I hadn’t stripped – she thought I was going to strip, why wasn’t I stripping? I spoke German to a German girl and also talked to a great guy who was fascinated by me, having never met someone with achondroplasia before. Just the way in which he made repeated reference to how feminine I am was reason enough to award him some kind of good guy medal.

Anyone else who wishes to bestow compliments upon my figure won’t have long to wait now as the 7 Days self-portrait project is returning soon. The winter (or summer, if you’re Kirsty or Lauren II) run starts on Saturday 22nd December. We hope all you pretty people will join us again.
