Stupid physics

Could someone please explain to me (don’t explain to me) why the camera lenses I get butterflies about are the length of my arm and weigh so much I’d have to hire an attractive man to carry them around for me. (Mmm, attractive man.) Why can’t the laws of physics be changed so that a 300mm f2.8 isn’t the size of a small house? That’s not so much to ask, is it? IS IT? What about just a 70-200mm f2.8 – surely it’s about time someone could make one I could handle without looking like I was taking my third leg out of my bag when I came to take a photograph? Goddamn stupid physics. Hmmph, maybe I’ll just look into hiring an attractive man to carry me around instead.
