Compost bin

We had more stripey weather today. By which I mean the sun was shining and the skies were blue and then you’d see a band of black cloud coming towards you and suddenly hail and rain would come pelting down. Then that would pass and the sun and blue skies would return as if nothing had happened. It was during one of these sunny interludes that I mixed a bucketful of grass clippings – the first of the year – into my compost. A bank of black cloud was approaching as I pressed all the organic goodness firmly down into the bin and I made it indoors again before the next skyful of hail was dropped upon us.
