Ouch

5 June 2008

Hello. I’m finding concentrating a little difficult this week. Sitting is also difficult. As is standing. Oh, and lying down, too. Something’s gone wrong in my left leg. I woke up Monday morning to discover that I’d been lying on my front, but kneeling up on my left leg. I just had a little red imprint from the sheet to show from it. Then my knee started hurting that morning and then developed horrible prickly itchiness below the skin in my thigh. That became unbearable on Tuesday and I was prescribed an anti-histamine by a flummoxed GP.

I went back to see my own GP yesterday as the pain in my knee and thigh was still awful and I was still getting waves of this prickliness. She was equally flummoxed. There’s nothing external to be seen. The left knee looks just as chubby and deathly pale as it’s partner on the right. We wonder if maybe there’s a trapped nerve somewhere, so I’ve got some ibuprofen to take for a few days.

It’s beginning to feel a bit better now. I’m not hollering and grabbing my leg as much, though I’m still pretty uncomfortable and considering auctioning off my leg to, well, anyone who’ll take it.

What am I bid?

Yikes! I have no need for a throbbing leg, though, sorry.

What a bummer! I hope it gets better soon. Bad leg, bad!

Wanna try a swap for my right hip which wont take any weight at the moment.

I think I danced to much at the wedding the other week….because it has hurt ever since.
That was terribly uncomfortable on a 14 hour international flight from LA to Sydney.

So…how do we make the trade?

I’ll take it, I need a good doorstop – it sounds perfect!

    Flummoxed. I love that word!

It does sound like nerve pain. I’d be asking for something a little stronger than ibuprofen, for pete’s sake. I’ve heard that nerve pain is awful.

I might consider a swap- half a brain for the leg if you don’t get any better offers.

This doesn’t sound like a happy thing. I hope it’s feeling better. Did they find out what it was?
