Footwarmers without borders

7 November 2008

The warmth of my feet is clearly of the utmost concern to those in mainland Europe. Last year Hubert bought me this pair of slippers to keep my toes warm and today the postman delivered this delightful pair of socks sent to me by Gaby from the Allgäu (that’s her full name). The packaging calls them ABS socks and hell, if I can’t have a car, then I’m damn well going to have an anti-lock braking system for my feet. And five Euros says that my ABS is cosier than yours.

You’re already Brenda from the Internet, though that is rather a common surname around here … on the internet.

Which to me is strange… because I only knew one other Brenda growing up and she was a 2nd cousin…or something. Then when I went to college. I had a roommate Brenda and a gal across the hall named Brenda… AND. To top that off. I now work with two other Brenda’s…in the same office! “Hello, may I speak to Brenda”. me…”Sure, which one?”

I need a new name. Or a cool title.

I’m not a sock person, but I am a little jealous.

The warmth of your feet is also quite important to those of us stranded here in the states, as well. Don’t forget us!
