On and off the needles

9 January 2009

Tassels

Currently on the needles: a kid’s scarf in holly red and green. The 3×3 rib on 4mm needles takes a while, so I took a break three-quarters of the way through to sew in my ends and to make the tassels on one end, which look even better than I had hoped. I’m now on the home straight of the green and red stripes on the other end, then a few more yarn ends to be sewn in, six tassels to make and it will be headed to my Etsy shop.

Already there and waiting for a friendly neck to warm is this dark red scarf, knitted from an acrylic and kid mohair mix. Better than the pure mohair for me as it didn’t split as much and I, therefore, didn’t gain as many grey hairs.
