Well, that didn’t take long

Two open cornflowers greeted me this morning when I came into my office. A nice surprise as they’d been just little buds when I went to bed the night before. There are lots of buds yet to come on the plant, so thank you Random Lady on a Bonfire Night Float for throwing me the packet of seeds last year, these flowers are pretty!

Also ready to greet me this morning when I went to the veg patch were three little sweetcorn plants, their green heads poking up just above the soil. As I write it’s now evening and it’s pouring with rain outside., which might just quench the thirst of the other seeds and make them spring to life overnight too. We shall see.
