A good moment

9 July 2009

Although most of you guys reading don’t really know who he is, I tend to be a bit coy when talking about my musician – no names, just pronouns perhaps – so that it’s more difficult for a personal anecdote I want to tell to be picked up by random Googlers.

But this little story played out in front of a few thousand people, so I think it’s ok to share this one. On the last night of the three day festival Suzy and I attended in Linz Hubert had a number of people to thank who had been part of the team that made possible his concert ship tour from the Black Sea to the North Sea. I was among those people asked up on stage and when Hubert called me out from the wings he grabbed me up in a big hug and carried me to stand with his band. I shared a terrorist fist bump with David the keyboardist as Hubert introduced me to the crowd and told them that I’d run his website for years and didn’t just do the English side of things, but the German too – and sometimes even the Goiserisch.

Thanks to Suzy, in whose hands I left my camera, I have this great memento of the occasion.
