First seedlings of the year
The tomato seedlings are all up now, helped along by having put them in the conservatory on the sunny side of the house, rather than my north-facing office. There are three yellow cherry tomato seedlings and four ordinary red cherry tomato plants. Look at me being all good, getting my seedlings going earlier than usual! [...]
7 Days: Day 7 – Dinner
Friday night, back from food shopping, The Archers on the radio, preparing my dinner. Where “preparing” means heating in the microwave and stirring halfway through. I can recommend Waitrose’s pad thai though – very tasty. My original idea for my shot today was going to somehow involve all the lovely things I wanted to buy [...]
7 Days: Day 6 – I pitter the fool who steals my olives!
Olives are good, green are better than black. If there’s a little feta to hand too, then so much the better.
7 Days: Day 5 – Tidy UP!
Or just wander off upstairs, whatever. My desk is sinking somewhat under the things I keep dumping on it. My hope is that if I leave it long enough it will eventually evolve into a sentient being capable of tidying up itself. Click through to Flickr to read the notes on the photo.
7 Days: Day 4 – Straightening
Straightening my hair, as although it’s naturally curly, it tends towards meh-curly, rather than hurrah-curly if left to do its own thing. That bit of hair hanging down by my cheek is rather über-straight by the way, on account of having already tried so many times to get both something in focus and a pleasant [...]
7 Days: Day 3 – Sowing seeds
Sowing the first seeds of the year for the vegetable patch. This year it’s pretty simple, just cherry tomatoes and pumpkins. We still have a freezer drawer full of pumpkin puree, but after a four year wait, there might just be enough room in the freezer come harvest time for me to grow a few [...]
7 Days: Day 2 – Chowing down
Some of us use knives and forks, some use chopsticks. Others give up trying to impale the sticky crunchy thing and just use their fingers to eat. This is lunch today with Helen, Lauren and Suzy – a slightly belated birthday lunch for Helen. We followed our Chinese banquet with a trip to a coffee [...]
7 Days: Day 1 – Clean start
A clean start for 7 Days – though invariably I tend to get these things the wrong way round, showering and then going straight to the garden and getting covered in mud in the garden, or heading to the gym to get all sweaty. Though even with blue skies and the sun shining I spent [...]
