Thwarted
2 May 2011
Conversation with self in the office:
Mmm, I wanna Twix
You don’t need a Twix
But I want one
I could go and get one!
I’m going!
Here I go!
Conversation with Mum in the kitchen:
Do you want anything from the shop?
The shop?
Yeah, the … oh, is it shut?
Conversation with no-one in particular, stomping upstairs with a banana:
Stupid bank holiday
Why do the shops have to shut?
A banana goes nothing like as well with coffee as a Twix
Why is my life so hard?
I should get some Twix bars for my food cupboard, in case this ever happens again
Good thinking – and maybe some …
Transcript ends as our protagonist becomes lost in a daydream about a cupboard full of delicious (and fattening) food

No chocolate in the house! Where is the Cadbury’s Milk Tray man when you need him?

Oh, Chocolate in the food cupboard is a MUST. I have a friend who is only buying M&Ms for her food storage. She knows it will trade like gold if a famine hits. heh

I’ve always loved the idea of having a huge bowl of M&Ms. I fear it wouldn’t last too long though.

Wow I’ve always thought England sounded like a nice place to live until you tell me the shops close on bank holidays. You don’t have seven 24-hour drugstores within walking distance where you can buy Twix, door mats, or Justin Beiber-scented bracelets?? How archaic. Or classy. Whichever.

Imma gonna try this new-fangled reply thing I’ve installed.
Most small places shut on bank holidays (inc the village shop), but big supermarkets often just have shorter opening hours. Except on Easter Sunday, Christmas Day, big days like that when even they allow their staff to go home. I live in the wilds, you know, there ain’t no 24 hour store here. But I have my Twixes now, so what do I care?

That’s how it used to be here in the big city (heh), but now almost everywhere is open on Easter and more and more places are staying open on Christmas. Which I guess is good since not everyone celebrates those holidays and it kind of sucks to be stuck unable to do your usual thing if you don’t. Hrm. I’d form a stronger opinion on this, but I am firmly against opinions before coffee.
