Forest sunshine
26 February 2012
After a really not at all suspicious-looking double drive-by of John and Sam’s new house yesterday, we met up with Sam, Anya and Lily at a nearby forest. Alice Holt forest is interestingly another Go Ape site, but we remained firmly on the paths, going for a little wander in the late afternoon.
That great photographers’ light was shining through the still bare trees – low and blinding most of the time, but in the right place, it gives a lovely warm glow. So now and again I would stop, seeing a pretty spot of light – and most of the group would get even further ahead.
That just left me and Mum as the official warners of Approaching Dogs With Huge Fluffy Tails Who Will Want To Inspect You. The girls were quite bemused by the big hairy beast; I just wanted to clean windows with its tail. Alice Holt forest needs more windows.
It was a lovely afternoon, so mild after some really cold days. Here’s to getting out a bit more often and sorting out the thighs that seem to have missed the memo about being in a bikini in Grenada in a couple of months.
